This solar oven is a very simple and innovative project for school-level project. This solar oven is especially useful in summer. We can make this simple solar oven even in waste-in-use mode.
Let's see what the necessary materials for
this project are:
v This requires a cardboard box in the
first open size.
v Aluminum foil.
v Glue for sticking.
v Essentially a transparent plastic
seat i.e. a plastic seat that looks like glass.
v Black colour sun work construction
paper.
v A thermometer to measure temperature.
Step-1
First, three sides should be cut with a cutter to open and
close the top of the carton. Only one side should be left uncut so that it is
not damaged by frequent opening and closing of the side and it is fixed by
applying a cell adhesive.
For this, you can first take an exact
measure on the cardboard box and draw a line on three sides. You can put a dotted
line on the uncut side and then measure and cut and it will come out right.
Step-2
A new dress cardboard box is perfect for this because we can
open and close the box completely and choose a box that is suitable for the top
to be cut open on three sides to let the sunlight in.
Open the box completely cover it with aluminum foil and
then stick black sunwork construction paper on it. Then cover the cover
completely and we have to cut three sides only and stick the aluminum foil on
the inside of the cover.
Step-3
Now a transparent plastic sheet should be placed over the
open area only then sunlight can enter it.
A thermometer can be found when placed to measure heat.
For understanding
This solar oven can bring heat up to almost 75 degrees Celsius
if it is placed in hot weather. This heat is sufficient to cook food items that
can be cooked moderately. You can cook basic meals with simple over-the-counter
meals like these during summers when you can't prepare food.
The reason why this solar oven gets hot is because of the
non-conductive cardboard and the black construction paper which is highly
absorbent.
This oven includes thermal insulation without conduction of
heat. By using black-coloured construction paper, black colour attracts more
heat and light due to which its temperature increases.
This project is great for the school level, simple and
innovative.
We can also make this solar oven project on a larger scale with larger cardboard.
