A new species of snake discovered in India has been named after Titanic hero.

The Himalayan range of India is a protected area where various species can live. Recently, researchers discovered a new species of snake in this range.

The newly discovered snake species is named after Titanic hero Leonardo DiCaprio. Many people may have doubts as to why this name is around. This new snake species has been named in his honour as he works as a conservationist.

The people living in the Himalayan region live in harmony with nature. In 2020, a man saw a new type of snake behind his house in the Himalayan region and immediately took a photo of it on his mobile phone and posted it on social media. It became so viral at the time that biologists started researching it.

A joint team of researchers from three countries, India, Germany, and the United Kingdom, started researching this new type of snake. They discovered two new species of snake named Anguiculus dicaprioi and Anguiculus rappii.

This Anguiculus DiCaprio lives in the Himachal region of central Nepal. Similarly, Anguiculus rappii is a species of snake that lives in the Indian regions of Sikkim, Bhutan, and Arunachal Pradesh. This Anguiculus rappii snake is very rare and rarely seen. Anguiculus means very small in Latin. Titanic hero Leonardo DiCaprio, who contributed a lot to nature conservation, has been honoured with his name.

The naturalists may have thought that naming a new species of snake after a famous person would make the information popular and at the same time create awareness among people to protect nature.

There are still many rare species in the world. Researchers say very little has been discovered by humans. Naturalists say many more plant species can be found, as well as insects, tiny creatures and even rare species of snakes that are still unknown today.

At the same time, new types of species are formed in nature due to natural change due to changes in time. In that way, new types of insects and small creatures may appear.
