Do you know about the mass extinction of silkworms?

There have been many great problems in history. From human to animal infectious diseases, threats threaten the world. We have not heard about silkworm infestations that shut down many factories due to a lack of silk thread and affected workers.

Louis Pasteur was the scientist who most intensively emphasized the micro theory of disease. He performed various experiments and proved many theories through practical demonstrations. Diseases are caused by microbes. So those microbes should be prevented from entering the body.

He explained to the world that if we stop it from entering the body, we can stop the disease. He researched the processes of fermentation and putrefaction and innovatively proposed that diseases in humans and animals are similar to these processes.

In 1865, silkworms in France were affected by an unknown disease. The impact was far too great. Millions of silkworms began to die due to disease caused by the microorganism. As a result, many factories were closed due to a lack of sufficient silk thread. The labourers were greatly affected, and the labourers lost their jobs due to the non-availability of silk thread and suffered extreme poverty.

Various scientists have researched the disease of these silkworms. Couldn't figure out why the silkworms were infected. Louis Pasteur was assigned to discover the disease after much intensive research.

After several days of research, Louis Pasteur discovered that these silkworms were infected by a specific type of microorganism. He explained that if diseased worms are isolated and destroyed, the disease will not spread to other worms. Accordingly, silkworms were protected by silkworm breeders.

Louis Pasteur is considered to be the most important person in the world's fight against microbes and only a great scientist can find the right solution in troubled times.
