HUMAN BLOOD INFORMATION - Red Blood Cells - White Blood Cells - Platelets

Human blood has 96000 km of blood vessels, Totally blood contains four types of blood cells.

            Red blood cells(RBC)

            White blood cells(WBC)

            Platelets

            Plasma

Blood cell counts are normal in our body. If an increase and decrease in blood cells cause disease.

Red Blood Cells (RBC)

The RBCs have nuclei but mature RBCs do not have nuclei RBCs are red in color because of the presence of a respiratory pigment called hemoglobin.

Normally 54% of hemoglobin and their count ranges between 4-6 million /cu mm.

If a decrease in RBC causes anaemia an increase in number causes polycythemia.

White Blood Cells (WBC)

White blood cells are concerned with the phagocytosis of foreign germs and the production of antibodies which provide Immunity against injection.

Normally WBC count ranges between 4500 and 11000/cu mm.

If increase in WBC causes Leukemia and a decrease in the number causes Leukopenia.

Platelets

Normally platelet count ranges between 15000 and 300000 per cu mm.

The function of platelets is freezing blood when blood bleeding from injuries. So the platelet count in the blood must be normal.
